VinFast VF MPV 7 Gains Attention in India’s Premium EV Market With Low Running Costs and Family-Focused Features
VinFast VF MPV 7 is gaining momentum in India’s premium electric vehicle segment with its spacious three-row layout, 517-kilometre driving range, low operating costs and long-term warranty benefits. The electric MPV is attracting families seeking modern technology, lower fuel expenses and practical long-distance mobility solutions.
India’s EV market is witnessing increasing demand for premium electric models offering longer driving range, advanced technology and stronger long-term ownership value. Industry trends indicate that higher-income consumers are driving the transition toward better-equipped electric vehicles, while the broader EV segment continues to maintain strong momentum. Recent sales figures showed that electric vehicle sales in India reached their second-highest monthly volume on record despite seasonal slowdowns.
Against this backdrop, the VinFast VF MPV 7 is emerging as a notable contender among Indian families seeking a spacious vehicle with reduced operating expenses and enhanced comfort for daily commuting and long-distance travel.
Following a test drive in Gurugram, Priya M., a 41-year-old human resources manager, said the vehicle changed her family’s perspective on road travel and fuel expenditure.
She stated that her family often reconsidered long-distance travel plans because fuel expenses for large family vehicles significantly increase during holiday seasons. According to her, the VF MPV 7 created a sense of freedom by reducing concerns about diesel and petrol costs during extended journeys.
The appeal of the model is largely linked to the lower operating costs associated with electric mobility. Based on an estimated monthly driving distance of around 1,500 kilometres, owners of traditional diesel-powered MPVs in India could spend tens of thousands to more than INR 100,000 annually on fuel alone, particularly families that frequently travel between cities or use their vehicles extensively on a daily basis.
In comparison, the VF MPV 7’s electric powertrain substantially reduces energy expenses. Even with routine home charging, electricity costs remain significantly lower than conventional fuel expenses. VinFast is also offering complimentary charging support at V-Green stations until March 2029, potentially allowing early customers to operate the vehicle with minimal day-to-day energy costs over the coming years.
Priya further said that her family regularly travels between Delhi and Jaipur and frequently commutes across the National Capital Region. She added that savings on charging expenses could allow families to allocate more resources toward vacations and their children rather than fuel costs.
The vehicle also benefits from lower maintenance requirements commonly associated with electric vehicles. VinFast is providing complimentary maintenance for three years or 36,000 kilometres in India. The VF MPV 7 additionally includes a seven-year or 160,000-kilometre vehicle warranty and a ten-year or 200,000-kilometre battery warranty.
Developed with a focus on practicality and passenger comfort, the MPV offers a MIDC-certified driving range of 517 kilometres. The vehicle is equipped with three-row air conditioning, flexible 60:40 second-row seating, 50:50 third-row seating layouts, multi-link rear suspension and connected technology features including remote air-conditioning control.
The VF MPV 7 also delivers a distinct ownership experience compared to traditional multi-purpose vehicles. Its electric powertrain produces 204 PS and 280 Nm of torque. Additional features such as regenerative braking, selectable drive modes and connected car technology contribute to a more technologically advanced driving experience.
Industry observers believe the combination of low operating costs, modern performance and family-oriented design is helping the VF MPV 7 generate early traction in India’s increasingly competitive MPV segment. Buyers transitioning from internal combustion engine vehicles are currently eligible for benefits worth INR 196,000 under VinFast’s EV transition programme.
Automotive enthusiast Rohit S., who recently visited a VinFast showroom in Delhi for a test drive, said the vehicle offers a strong value proposition for Indian families planning to upgrade.
According to him, the VF MPV 7 combines the practicality of a full-sized three-row family vehicle with advanced electric mobility technology, long-term warranty coverage and considerably lower running costs, making it a compelling option in the segment.
